This cartoon is a version of a black and white ink drawing depicting playing cards with faces. The earlier versions were meant more for home decor, whereas this version is meant for kids, whether that be in the form of prints for the wall, a blanket, a pillow or tote bag. The colors for the playing card symbols have changed from purely red and black to colors that are more representative of the symbols themselves: a cool diamond, a green clover (club), a red heart and a dark purple spade.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
