This is from a relief sculpture I made in 2006.

A vigilant unicorn lays in the grass while stars are overhead.

symbolism:
* unicorn: the unicorn is an independent creature of high intelligence, able to purify water, and banish toxicity. He is known to fall for faire maidens. He also symbolizes purity, innocence and enlightenment.
* stars: inspiration, intuition, dreams

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
