Artist's Description

please note: the watermark will not appear on any products.

This is from my 4" x 6" original drawing and slightly altered in the computer.

This piece features an olde Renaissance-style unicorn (yes, "olde" is part of the sentence, on purpose). He is lying in the wildflowers and grass on a moonlit night in front of some vines. He looks relaxed but alert.

The unicorn symbolizes purity, the divine, healing impurities in the body and mind (and particularly where it concerns water) and healing sorrows of the heart. Their hearts are known to melt by the presence of a faire maiden. Vines represent continuity and growth. The moon symbolizes the feminine, mystery, dreams and the cyclical. The full moon denotes maturity.

Don't forget to check out the greeting cards, pillows, totes and cell phone cases that come with this listing.

About Lise Winne

Lise Winne

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
