For this piece, I decided to focus on a dark red version (there is also a purple version, and a green version found in my shop).

Dark red is very much a kind of royal color, and unicorns were depicted in royal court art and tapestries.

I originally designed this piece for a backdrop, or for a book cover (with writing on top), but I liked the design enough for other uses too (and my listings here do present a blank notebook).

Depicted is a glowing unruly garden with butterflies framed and depicted within a border, and a unicorn above (originally a sculpture of mine). Fireflies and stars glow haphazardly around the piece.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
