Featured is a flowering spring tree (tree of life) with knotted roots with some barely decipherable doves flying into it. Knots in Celtic symbolism signify continuity, eternity and tradition.
This is a piece I did in 2010 for greeting cards, gift tags and prints. Some of the prints were used at weddings and handfasting.
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
