Sometimes when I take walks, even in the remotest areas where it would seem no one goes, I find junk lying around: laundry detergent bottles, small propane tanks, food wrappers, old toys, things that are bothersome. But coming upon this wasn't so bothersome (and added some color to an otherwise grayish landscape).
Every single pumpkin had a big hole in it where a creature gnawed through it. The seeds inside were all gone and presumably in the belly of the creatures.
To me they looked like treasures sitting in the snow.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
