This piece happened by accident, through a number of trials and errors. I had originally painted the greenery all green. And it did suffice for a lot of foregrounds. But then I happened upon this alteration when I played with the image. It is probably my most favorite of the series except perhaps the glowing blue one.

This piece is very floral, but unlike some of it's cousins, not "Victorian tea-cup floral". It is much more modern, with bright colors. Changing autumn leaves makes it even more modern looking. And yet, it has the ornate qualities and interconnectedness of many Victorian and Renaissance designs.

This is a design I made for my floral home décor series. Most of the series at the time of this writing looks like Oriental rugs and old world kinds of designs. This one is no exception except the brightness.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
