For this piece, I wanted something flowery and ornate, but also something that would go with turquoise, thus blue flowers and red leaves.
This is part of a series of home decor designs having to do with flowers and gardens and an ornate border design.
Most of my home decor is inspired by both Victorian and Renaissance design. One of my most powerful influences is William Morris who did all kinds of mediums.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
