Description
I named this piece "The Cathedral" when I was done painting it, because that is what it looked like to me: nature's Cathedral. While the center is mannered, symmetrical and has more man-made symbols that, in an abstract sense, refer to plants and plant-like life, it doesn't have stems or wildness. Just outside the cathedral, plants, flowers and budding flowers, grow into the arch, sending their seeds (represented by white dots) and pollen everywhere.
It is night time too, and the living, the wild plants left to grow without interruption, outshine the night.
symbolism:
- white butterfly: transformation, soul journey, spiritual protection, messages from spirit, messages from those who have passed
- arch: going from one world into another, rebirth, transformation, leaving the old behind for something new, access to a holy place
- red tulip shape: rebirth, going through many changes, passion, love, Spring
- white symmetrical plant: innocence, the ethical, harmony, balance
- budding flowers: ideas, new direction, ideas coming to fruition
- orange flowers: enthusiasm, energy, vitality
- pollen: influence, influential ideas and ideals
- wild plants: unbridled growth
- seeds: reproduction, hope, evolution
- night: the unseen, mystery, what is hidden, rest, can mean suffering of the soul and grief
The original is for sale at this writing, and it is a 10" x 10" acrylic painting with archival glass and a silver frame. Inquire by contacting me through the contact link if you are interested in buying it.
