Featured are a mother and baby white Sapientes Pacis birds (translated from Latin: "wise peace birds"). They are looking at one another. The baby bird is trying to get reassurance and a lesson from the parent bird while three white butterflies flutter in the background amid the millefleurs. Seeds and pollen and maybe some fairy orbs dance around in the background as well.
These are made up birds of my own creation and are featured in a number of pieces.
This piece is part of my millefleurs series as well as part of my exotic bird series.
The design and concept is dedicated to the memory of artist and quilter, Leslie Fuller, who told her son on her deathbed that what she wanted most was for him to spread loving kindness.

About Lise Winne
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
