Description
This is part of my firebird series of fantasy art pieces.
In this piece, a firebird is flying in a monochromatic purple wood. There are embers falling from him to the ground, but the ground does not light on fire.
Traditionally, the firebird represents deep transformation, a new life, and regeneration. It can represent healing too, just because of the regeneration. The firebird also represents longevity, a bird that lives many lives in one life.
For me it has represented my life in large degree, all of it starting in 2013, and coming to a head in 2019, an incredible banner year for me, when I started the series. It was a time I felt like a new person, starting a new life, and it has been a new life in so many ways, going through the pandemic with a whole new set of people in my life, a time of personal growth and enlightenment of so many issues, and exploring in a way that I was never able to before.
People who are attracted to firebirds may be going through their own transformations, their own healing processes, or they may feel they have to start anew in some way (where the firebird leads the way).
Symbolism:
* firebirds: transformation, regenerating capabilities, reincarnation, rebirth, rising from a troubling time, rising from the dead, done with old challenges and onto new challenges, done with the old way of life and onto a new way of life, strength, courage
* forest: contemplation, respite, peace
* purple: royalty, nobility, luxury, realized ambitions
This piece was done with a number of mediums, including a drawing, and pulled together to make a single artwork.
