This piece was originally meant as a poster for child abuse awareness. Verbal abuse is the most common form of abuse and often the most damaging to children. It can and does cause PTSD and C-PTSD in children who are subjected to it.
The balloon where he says he can't think straight is in reference to the fact that on-going bullying and abuse, and the resulting PTSD and C-PTSD cause learning disabilities and an inability to concentrate (amygdala hijacking).
Shaming and insulting children will destroy them. These are not "healthy child learning experiences"; they are experiences that cause pain and trauma in little developing minds, period.
