Description
Please note that the watermark in the lower right will not appear on any ordered prints or products (needed for on-line display only).
Featured are two bright tulips, but they aren't with the kinds of leaves usually associated with tulips. Instead they have leaves like an Elm tree, pointed. In the middle of the piece is a diamond with swirls inside and outside it. The outside is enclosed with a light blue border of both swirls and vines.
I made this piece for home decor, mainly square ones like pillows, duvets, blankets and tapestries. It is meant to spice up a room, but with subjects that are not controversial and bring the garden inside.
Besides the home, these also might work for your historical Bed and Breakfast, sitting room, a greenhouse, a screened in porch, or a library.
Please note that none of the home decor products with the exception of the tapestry will have my signature. Prints, greeting cards, and other products do.
Some symbolism:
* the color black: deep knowledge, power, drama, elegance, formality and mystery. Black is noted for both good and evil as power and knowledge can do both. Priests wear black, and criminals often work in the "black of night."
* the color rose: desire, strength, and passionate love
* red tulip: true love, passionate love
* elm tree leaves: revival, hope, renewal (the cycles associated with creation and death)
* diamond shape: tradition with brilliance
* swirls: cycles (birth and death, the seasons, nature cycles, star cycles)
* Vines: also cycles (has more to do with traditions)
* white seeds: potential, hope, initiation, cycles, all with spiritual overtones (white)
