Description

Featured is a baby lamb in fall foliage with plants that range from green to tan, and red and brown. There seems to be a frost on the ground as well. Overhead are some white butterflies. The sky and border are turquoise.

I seem to be attracted to making art for children these days. Perhaps it is because I am an advocate for children's rights.

Sometimes when I paint animals, I think about their life force and their rights to life.

The original is for sale at this time and includes a large gold frame. It is painted on panel and is 16" x 20".

SYMBOLISM:

* lamb: gentleness, innocence, purity, sweetness, forgiveness, meekness, sometimes represents Christ (both the suffering and triumphant aspects of him)

* white butterflies: good luck, messengers of good luck and fortune, spiritual support of the deceased, spiritual growth and wisdom

* fall foliage: shedding old memories, bad experiences and hardships, letting go, a new beginning, preservation, comfort, protection (and with a lamb in the picture: a new life)

* white leaves and vines: rebirth, regeneration, innocence

* turquoise: spiritual grounding, loyalty, tranquility. Turquoise has been associated in various cultures with healing (the immune system, respiratory system and gut in particular, places where stress effects individuals). Also it is said to help with courage. As a healing stone, turquoise is among the crystal healing master stones.
