For this piece, I wanted late autumn with all of its tans, yellows and oranges. There are still butterflies around, and they would have flown off by the times leaves look like this, but I didn't think the design would be nearly as interesting without them in the picture. Perhaps they are fluttering around indoors.
Autumn is symbolically the month of harvest, storing food, maturity, adulthood, abundance and prosperity. It is also the month of gray skies. But there is something about all of that gray being interrupted and over-shadowed by all of the warm colors.
Featured are butterflies, a dried up fern and some yellow-orange leaves. The design is symmetrical (after French folk art). It is meant to be full of details.
If you need color swatches to get solid matching pillows, I have included them below:
* red border and berries: #a71b00
* background light gray color: #e3e8fb
* yellow-orangeish leaves (on the lighter side): #fccd01
* yellow-orangeish leaves (on the darker side): #bc8717
* tan stem and some branches: #ead8b4
