The vase is one I made on a potter's wheel. It is made of porcelain and it has a turquoise glaze. There is carving on it. I have used some of the vase for a border design (small triangles, cut out using photoshop).
The intention of the piece was to have a giant bouquet coming out of a little turquoise vase.
I used flowers that were in bloom at the time including daffodils.

The design is dedicated to my cousin, Carrie, who has a sunny disposition.
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
