Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

Artist's Description

This is another version of this piece: http://lise-winne.pixels.com/featured/cattails-and-november-flowers-lise-winne.html

I left out the purple background and the border design, and it still has a beauty that only nature can do. I love the monochromatic colors in this one (all of the shades of browns). The dark punctual-like dried clovers in with the light fluffy cattails seem to resonate with me in terms of complimentary shapes and colors.

This is part of "The Bouquet Series" and it is one of my favorites. Yes, I like all of the bright Spring and Summer flowers of many of the other bouquets, but I also like the quieter November flowers. To me they evoke tranquility and looking inward, self examination, peace.

About Lise Winne

Lise Winne

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
