Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

This acorn squash came out of my garden, and when I put it in my "harvest basket" to take home, I grabbed some of the leaves and dried plants that were growing around it and put them in the basket too.

My thought at the time was: "These look too nice in their natural environment and I am taking them away." And then the thought immediately following that was: "I'll take a picture of it when I get back home."

Of course, the natural environment had more green (those darn weeds!), but even those I have gotten to love in terms of their shapes. Maybe that is for another piece.

The totes could be used at your local farmer's market, yes?

This piece is part of "The Bouquet Series" which I started in 2011 as a sideline (ha!). There is more available from the series here in my store, or alternatively, you can go to my blog and read...

About Lise Winne

Lise Winne

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
