Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

A man in Renaissance and Medieval attire (or costuming) claims victory.
The Renaissance was a time of masculine chivalry and this man embodies that. He is a master of the bow and arrow, jousting and hand-to-hand combat.
* knight: chivalry, ethical rules, heraldry, protocol
* archer: insight, truth-telling, precision, the ability to size things up from a distance
* Renaissance: enlightenment, strength
* victory: ability to compete and come out ahead
I am a firm believer that the art we are attracted to (or make) is speaking to us in terms of our autobiography: either how we see ourselves, what we are experiencing, or what we want to embody.
About Lise Winne
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12.

I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
