Done in a "storybook style", this was originally designed to be an Easter card, but it stands on its own too.
A young buck unicorn with spindly legs sits in a flowery meadow in front of a giant egg while a yellow bird flies overhead and a white bunny faces him. There are also eggs in the knotted border opening.
Symbolism:
unicorn: the unicorn is known to be an independent creature capable of purifying water, and getting rid of all kinds of toxicities. He also represents purity, pure spirit, enlightenment, magic.
rabbit: femininity, abundance, luck, fear
egg: new growth, resurrection, new beginnings
yellow bird: joy, positive outlook on life
daisies: joy, childhood, innocence
many flowers: growth, plenty to eat, abundance
knots: eternity, continuance
About Lise Winne
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
