Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

This photograph is called "The Many Layers" for a reason. There are at least five layers here, starting with the pink granite (very common in Maine and at Acadia National Park), followed by gray rock, then dark brown rock (which usually has something growing on it), the seaweed, and then the ocean. It is quite typical to see this here.
There is also a little plant on the left peaking through the rocks, the one thing that helps the composition.
Maine is a state that is part of my past (and somewhat part of my present and future). I also lived in a small coastal town that was empty of tourists by autumn and when only two restaurants stayed open during the rest of the year. Everyone knew everyone else, and the community was tight and helpful.
The ocean in Maine is so cold that on hot days it is like natural air conditioning, so brisk hiking along the coastline becomes possible.
This is my own original photography.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
