This is part of my millefleurs series of paintings and part of the Sapientes Pacis birds series, and was originally part of an exhibit having to do with the muse.

A white butterfly is framed and embraced by sapientes pacis bird in the millefleurs. The pieces is bordered by a detailed ink drawing with butterflies and more sapientes pacis birds.

All kinds of plants and flowers are featured including clovers, red painted brush - type flowers, and black eyed susans.

symbolism:
- sapientes pacis birds: translated from Latin it means "wise peace birds", my own creation.
- white butterflies: messages from the spirit and those who have passed, innocence
- clovers: love and luck
- black eyed susans: motivation, resilience
- millefleurs: plenty, luxury, wealth

The original is a 5 inch by 7 inch, framed to 8 inch by 10 inches, in a silver frame with archival glass.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
