This is one of my favorite photos from my series, the meadow series. The trees and the fallen tree make a doorway to the dried goldenrod beyond.
In the forefront are white flowers that are intermingled with red leaves from the autumn trees. The afternoon sun is illuminating a swath of land in the front as well as the goldenrod through the door. There is practically a path on the way through the portal.
This photo was taken in Saratoga County in late October when most of the leaves are down. However the county experienced unusual warm weather to such an extent that some still had leaves this late in the game.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
