This design looks like it is floating on top of the dark turquoise background. This is an abstract design featuring flower petal-like shapes with stripes in them and oblong shapes imbedded in the petal shapes. They all seem to be tied to each other and also anchored to an ornate center. The design features a wave-like pattern in red and white which is visible in the center as much as it is in the pieces floating around it. There is a white border.
Turquoise is the dominant color in this piece and symbolically it tends to mean attraction to spirituality and mysticism, to creativity and deep subjects, to protection from harm, and a love of authentic truthful speech.
Red, of course is symbolic of passion and ambition.
And white is symbolic of purity and innocence.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
