Description
This is a somewhat spooky and crazed looking self portrait holding a guitar (with digital enhancements).
This piece was influenced by Ann Marie Tornabene, a well established photographer in the Julia Cameron tradition, from France, who is motivated by self exploration in various settings and moods, and self portraiture, and who encouraged me to give self portraits a whirl (as an avenue for self discovery and acceptance). This is my first one. We are both influenced by Renaissance and fantasy art.
I was a professional musician and singer for many years, playing in various bands and duos throughout the United States. I play a classical guitar (like the one pictured) and a steel string, as well as various other instruments.

Lise, this isn't spooky or crazed-looking at all. I see a wonderful beautiful soul that is enjoying a moment of joy in being aware of the wonderful world around her, and of the inner spirit in holding onto something special; music, art, creation, love - all things that have helped her make sense in a world that is often cold. Thank you! It is not in the least bit flattering as a self portrait, but maybe it has a dash of vivacity! Thanks again!
