This art piece was made during the Covid 19 epidemic, and since the epidemic changed my life, my art seems to going in another way, also changing, with a lot of surprise fire elements. Covid 19 is taking off like a fire after all, now infecting many, many people, particularly the south on this day of July 16, 2020.
Anyway, this is an experimental piece, the result of trying some things out and this is where I ended up. I couldn't seem to go further and make it better.
In some ways, these new abstract pieces take me back to my early highschool years where I kept many journals of abstract art drawings. In fact, I couldn't believe how much of it I made. Then at age 16, I decided I should be more representational to be able to get into art school, so I dropped abstract art altogether. I became more of a fantasy artist, occasionally indulging in abstract art in my backgrounds (if I could make them work together).

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
