Description
Imagine coming around the bend and seeing this! When I did, I thought these little flowers looked like fireworks in the grass! Which is to say, I never remember seeing them before.
Imagine my dismay when I found out they were an invasive species like Giant Hogweed (which is growing around here too, but is more likely to leave third degree burns on you compared to the flower I have pictured here).
So what is this flower? It is White Sweet Clover, also known as Melilotus Officinalis.
I liked its twisty shapes, and how it leans in every which-way.
This was photograph was taken in a meadow (actually an abandoned field) in upstate NY in Saratoga County, NY. It is part of my meadow series, one of my favorite things to photograph because of the diversity of wildflowers (often small wildflowers) and the sightings of dragonflies and butterflies as well as many species of birds.
