So many of my millefleurs paintings feature an animal, or birds. This time I thought I would make a piece that just had millefleurs with a few butterflies, and nothing else. I hope you like the effect. Millefleurs was used widely during the Renaissance, particularly for tapestry designs. The most well known are the unicorn tapestries. The artist, William Morris (1834 - 1896) liked the millefleurs of the Renaissance, and incorporated a semblance of it in his own designs. I can relate to his work, and his interests in design, and even his life, on many levels. I sell duvets and pillows on this site, not just prints. Imagine this design and the variations of this design that I have uploaded on pillows and duvet covers. I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
