Description
So many of my millefleurs paintings feature an animal, or birds. This time I thought I would make a piece that just had millefleurs with a few butterflies, and nothing else. I hope you like the effect.
Millefleurs was used widely during the Renaissance, particularly for tapestry designs. The most well known are the unicorn tapestries. The artist, William Morris (1834 - 1896) liked the millefleurs of the Renaissance, and incorporated a semblance of it in his own designs. I can relate to his work, and his interests in design, and even his life, on many levels.
I sell duvets and pillows on this site, not just prints. Imagine this design and the variations of this design that I have uploaded on pillows and duvet covers. Rich, detailed art and home decor can turn a plain un-ornamental room into a feast for the eyes, and perhaps make you feel a little more in tune with nature.
Or imagine it on a tote bag that you take to the Renaissance faire to haul around your purchased goodies in (where you can still look the part because it isn't a tote bag with a modern logo on it).
This is the first in the series of this design. Look for more via LiseWinne.net, or lise-winne.pixels.com.
For home decor, to match the green of this painting use: #144d34 in "customize" via color swatches. To match the red in the flowers, use #bf0238.
