Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

Artist's Description

Note: the watermark in the lower right hand corner does not appear on any actual products.

Also note: the extra large round beach towel design is altered to fit the round shape.

This is part of a series of paintings featuring hummingbirds. In this piece, the hummingbird is seen hovering over red flowers. A window with an arch and green Celtic style knots frames the hummingbird.

Symbolism:
Hummingbird: joy, lightness of being
Celtic style knots: continuity, eternity

I have kept the print sizes small to keep with the size of the hummingbird.

About Lise Winne

Lise Winne

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
