This was once a cornfield. It has been harvested and all that remains are some stalks coming out of the ground, many stalks.
It is autumn, and there are many red maple leaves in among the stalks. A row of trees and low bushes separate the farms.
Beyond is a farm field which is still green, in a wonderful chartreuse color to balance an otherwise monochromatic landscape.
It is almost sunset in Saratoga County, NY. This makes for beautiful long shadows and trees that are highlighted.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
