Description
The State of New York had just purchased a parcel of land previously owned by developer and conservationist, John Munter. It was cleaning out the trees next to Frieck Cemetery in 2021. Some of the trees landed in the cemetery. I thought it made an interesting statement piece. It is not something that happens every day there.
This is an old cemetery, dating back to the early 1800s. No one is buried there in the present day. So the stones are quite old.
It is a very small cemetery located in Middle Grove, NY, and it is tucked into the woods on Middle Grove Road. For a long time it was not maintained. Many of the stones were on the ground and it got so high with weeds that you could barely tell what it was. But now the stones are raised up again, and the grass is mowed.
This photograph was taken in 2021 in Saratoga County and is part of my series on photographs of the northeastern section of the United States.
Don't forget that I carry puzzles in this design too.
Thanks for looking!
