Artist's Description

I always thought this design would be great in a nursery or child's room. I can also see this as kitchen art, even though it depicts blue eggs. I can see these on pillow designs for a child's crib.

The idea for this piece came about when I was picking flowers. A bird's nest from the previous year fell out of a cedar tree and landed in my hands. When I got home, I decided to join the two and make an art piece that celebrated both.

Real birds might not want all of these flowers, and to bring attention to their nest, but I thought all of the colors looked festive, celebratory, and to honor the nest.

This art is part of "The Bouquet Series", a line of art that I started in 2011 around the idea of flower arranging. Many of the series are in my shop here, or alternatively you could read about the series from my blog here: http://lisewinne.blogspot.com/2016/02/photo-bouquet-series.html

About Lise Winne

Lise Winne

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
