In this piece, the firebird almost initially looks like a setting sun. He (or she) is centered in the picture, rising upwards.
The firebird represents transformation, but also rising above a situation, or rising from a troubling situation. Some people view the firebird as a healing symbol.
The background looks like a stained glass window, but in this case, it is one with trees. It is the bird's cathedral, its sacred place, full of symmetry.
This might make a good piece for healing art. I can see this as a jig saw puzzle that might be hard to solve (I sell this piece as a jig saw puzzle).

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
