This photograph was taken on state land in the western part of Saratoga County, NY.
Featured are dried ferns which turn this wonderful silvery color in the Autumn.
Every other detail takes a back seat to the ferns. There is a muddle of autumn leaves, mostly birch, maple and oak with some dried up weeds here and there. There is also greenery: three-leafed plants which are not poison ivy and some vines.
It is all framed by a silvery border.
This photograph represents how the forest floor looks and the plants and composition are not altered in Photoshop.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
