Design of Red, White, Blue and Turquoise Diamonds and Other Geometric Shapes
Mixed Media - Design
Please note that the watermark in the lower right does not appear on any ordered prints or products.
This piece is predominantly red. The diamonds are lined with turquoise and there is a dark blue border, and there is some white in the polka dots, in the stripes and in the zigzags, in the outside double border, and even more in the center diamond, but for the most part, red heavily dominates this composition.
Red, of course, is the color of passion. Blue cools it down a bit and is the color of stability and careful-ness. Turquoise is the color of spirituality and often favored by creative people, and white represents innocence and purity. But the geometrics and the overwhelming red conjure fire a bit, yes?
I made this piece for home decor, particularly pillows (and also available in this shop). It is a much more modern design than I am used to making, but I am in a period of creative experimentation at the moment, and trying out some abstract shapes.
If you want to mix and match, I have included some of the major colors in this piece below:
* red background (approximate): #d45544
* red in the diamond shapes and stripes: #ff4804
* turquoise: #02dbfe
* darker cobalt blue: #0077f9
* white: the white is a pure white
My little signature in the lower right does not appear on pillows, duvets, blankets and shower curtains to keep with the tradition of home decor. All other products and prints bear my signature.
