This color scheme is unusual for me, but I thought I would try it. It is brilliant red with some gold, reminiscent of the Orient.
an oval of green leaves surrounds a turquoise diamond shape. There are lilies with a long pistil, as well as some black eyed Susans and a white tubular flower. There are swirls and loops throughout.
Red, symbolically, in Western countries is the color of passionate love, adventure, anger and violence, however In China it represents joy, vitality, good luck, success and good fortune. It is the most widely used color in that country, and most often used for weddings and festivals.
Gold symbolizes, in both western and eastern cultures, wealth and riches, however in western cultures it carries additional meanings of illumination and wisdom.
White also has the same connotations in Western and Eastern cultures. It is the symbol of purity and innocence. In the east, white also represents metal. It can be associated with death and mourning and is commonly worn at funerals.
Lilies in China symbolically mean 100 years of love and considered to be one of the best flowers for weddings. In the west, the lily is often associated with funerals instead, and otherwise symbolizes devotion, purity, piety, peace and humility.
The black eyed Susan in the west symbolizes encouragement, adaptability, opportunity and justice. It is not a native flower to China, so it retains the same meaning.
The triangle in China means laws and regulations. In western culture it means protection and stability.
The red I used is: #e8003c (in case you want to mix and match).
Pillows, duvets, blankets and shower curtains do not carry my signature. All other products and prints have my small signature in the lower right.
