This is an abstract contemporary design that I made for home decor, namely pillows and matching prints, and is the closest in the series to the original art. This piece has a little texture to it too.
Stripes and amorphous shapes that seem to be strung together dominate the composition, while the center seems ordered and ornate in comparison. This adds to the contemporary feeling of the design. So do the eye shapes in the middle of some of the shapes.
Black and white stripes signify good and evil, black and white thinking, harm vs. help, innocence vs. knowledge, being able to see vs. not being able to see, exposed vs. hidden, charity vs. crime, "either/or", everything or nothing. Stripes in earlier times were a sign of rebellion, but these days they have come to signify duality and multi-tasking. Black and white are the extremes in terms of stripe designs.

I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
