However I do have a small number of prints and products in this design.
Explanation:
Abbie Shores is a monitor on Fine Art America, and she runs weekly challenges. I sometimes join in on the fun to see if I can make anything out of the images she puts up.
Part of this piece was for the 18th challenge, one I did not win, but one where I learned a lot. I like the challenges because it gets me out of my rut of uploading art that looks like it was from yesteryear: fantasy art, tapestry designs, millefleurs, unicorns and so on.
In this piece, I keep to my habit of adding in a lot of detail, but in this case the theme is totally contemporary with practically day-glow colors, plus it features a girl with a cell phone, a type of situation I would never paint.

Brava Lise! I could see this as small ceramic art, like the drawer pulls for example, for a high contrast reflective surface of a chest of drawers or guest bathroom credenza. Maybe against high gloss orange paint or a metallic copper finish similar to gold leaf.Certainly does change up from your typical themes of art. Such a good exercise, as you say! I must try that.
